Originating in ancient China, T’ai Chi is a subtle form of exercise and moving meditation. Evolving from the martial arts, T’ai chi uses the Taoist principles of Yin and Yang to promote a healthy body and mind. The flowing movements of the T’ai Chi form, like the flow of water in a river, contain great strength, yet also the capacity to yield and transform under resistance.
The practice of T’ai Chi is accessible to people of all ages and physical abilities, men and women.
Ian McRae has practised T’ai Chi for over twenty years. He has also studied various forms of Kung Fu, including Feng Shou, and Shaolin Tiger/Crane styles. With a degree in philosophy (specialising in the Buddhist tradition), a post graduate certificate of education and a Diploma in Mindfulness, Ian incorporates elements of all of these into his class
