Roll - Release - restore: Freedom for the shoulders
self-myofascial release & restorative yoga with nicki hutchinson
Carry the weight of the world on your shoulders? Perhaps you have tension headaches, stiff shoulders or jaw pain? The shoulders and neck can be a 'hot spot' for holding tension, especially if we spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, driving a car, spending times on our 'screens', and extended periods of nursing and carrying little ones. Even if you don't spend a lot of time sitting, shoulders can feel like they magnetise tension! Such stress and tension patterns cause restriction and a sense of hinderance of movement / mobility.
This workshop will give you the opportunity to explore through the direct experience of introception, delving into your inner landscape areas of tension. Using therapy balls you will be guided to roll and release fascial tissue and you will restore using sublime restorative and/or yin poses.
- Release tension - Switch on the relaxation response - Reeducate your tissues’ pain perception - Help reduce inflammation -Improve sports performance and recovery
